To use the Business Emissions Evaluator (BEE) for refining your carbon measurement, you'll collect various types of data — utilities, bills of materials, shipping logs, and more. The following sections describe each type of data you'll need to collect and where you might find it.

What should I do with the data I collect?

  1. Document your process — so it's repeatable next year
  2. Save it in a format you can manipulate, like a spreadsheet or .csv — so you can easily transfer it into the BEE
  3. Keep the source documents organized. It will be helpful to maintain a record of the sources from which you are pulling data.

Keep in mind...

Your Brand

You'll need to gather some basic information about your brand.

<aside> 💡 Throughout this page you'll see the word control. We consider facilities or activities under your control if (1) you pay the employees who work there -OR- (2) you pay utilities. If either of these are true, we consider this facility or activity "under your control."
